Beautiful cobblestone streets and brightly colored buildings are just two reasons why San Juan is made for Instagram.  Every corner of old town is picture perfect!  But to make things easier for all you budding photographers, here is our cheat sheet for the most Instagrammable spots in San Juan.

Umbrella Street

Located at the end of Calle de la Fortaleza, an entire block is shaded by colorful umbrellas hung over the street.  The unique display over the cobblestone street is the perfect spot for a picture!

CASTILLO SAN FELIPE DEL MORRO:

Located on either end of old town San Juan, you will find forts to explore.  Castillo San Felipe del Morro is easily reconizable by the large grassy field surrounding the entrance.  The field was great for pictures as well as family entertainment. Being right on the water expect it to be very windy!

Castillo de San Cristobal

Castillo de San Cristobal is another great fort to explore in old town.  The fort itself is very photogenic with turrets, massive stone walls and arch entry way.  Soak in the history and tour the porperty learning about its important past. 

Rooftop of Hotel Casablanca

Located on Calle Fortaleza in central old town, this boutique hotel not only has a great location but an amazing rooftop terrace.  With sweeping city views, the rooftop is a great place to snap a pic as well as kick back with a sunset cocktail.

Greengos Caribbean Cantina

Not only is this an easy, family friendly spot for dinner in San Juan, the beautiful wall murals make for a great photo spot!  There are mulitple floor to ceiling paintings in the restaurant to compliment the Mexican theme decor. 

Calle de la Luna and Calle del Sol

Side streets Calle de la Luna and Calle del Sol headed towards Calle Norzagaray intersection are the best spot for photos of the beautiful  colored buildings.  There were not nearly as many tourists as the streets along Calle de Fortaleza and the traffic was limited for cars as well.  But don’t worry, you aren’t missing out on the beautiful colors or architecture!  There is just as much charm and beauty along these less crowded streets. 

La Casa Estrecha (The Narrow House)

Painted bright yellow with grass green doors, this tiny house was once an alleyway and it only a mere 5 feet wide!  The bright colors and unique architecture put La Casa Estrecha on our list of instagrammable worthy spots in San Juan.
